Frequently Asked Questions

Ready for your consultation
but unsure what to do?

  • Find some kind of documentation to confirm your birth date, time, and place.

Why? A family member’s recollection may not be accurate and accuracy is important because your birth details are needed to calculate your “Ascendant.” Your entire birth chart is calculated around this one sensitive point, and it moves one degree every four minutes.

Your Ascendant (or rising sign) is in the “first house.” The degree of your Ascendant denotes when you took your first breath. Ancient astrologers said this was the moment when your soul entered your body and likened it to the helm of the ship from which you navigate your life. The first house relates to one’s body, health, and character.

Your Ascendant may not be the same sign as your Sun sign. Not always, but most often, the Sun and the zodiac sign of your Sun will fall into one of the other 11 houses.

Your exact birth time is also important for capturing the location of the Moon, determining when a planet changes signs, if on the cusp, among other things.

If you don’t know your birth time, there’s a method called “chart rectification” that can narrow it down. Email me for details astrology.rhapsody@gmail.com

  • Because I’m an emerging astrologer, I’m offering readings at reduced rates so I can gain experience with many different charts over a long period of time. I’m calling this my self-defined apprenticeship. It will end after 100 readings.

The stepped costs are just price differences so astrology can be accessible to more people, while also honoring the time I’ve dedicated to training and study.

In lieu of payment, some trades for craft, skill, or service are accepted. No matter the payment you select, I’ll provide a 60–75 minute overview of your natal chart and discuss the “astrological weather” as it pertains to your nativity, along with the matters you are curious about.

When you schedule your reading, select the payment amount best-suited for you. If you’d like to arrange a trade, please describe your proposal on the intake form.

  • You’ll be prompted to complete an intake form when you schedule your reading.

Be sure to include your birth data [birth date, birth time, and birth place], along with any pertinent background information about yourself or the matters that you would like to discuss.

Your birth chart is multifaceted, and it’s important to approach it with questions in mind because it reveals itself in mysterious and multivalent ways. I LOVE astrology for this reason, and I can’t wait to talk about this with you!

  • When you’re ready, head on over to the reservations page. Select your payment amount. Complete the intake form. And schedule your reading!

After I receive your scheduling confirmation, I will reach out to you to let you know I received it and will confirm the details of our meeting.

If you have questions, you can always email me: astrology.rhapsody@gmail.com

  • We will meet over Zoom [unless another arrangement has been made].

Your reading will last 60–75 minutes. The reading is your time to learn about your chart and matters you are interested in. You can always interrupt to ask questions, and you can decline to discuss any topics you’re uncomfortable sharing.

If you must cancel, please do so at least 48 hours before your appointment.

What happens at
my consultation?

  • My aim is to have a conversation — similar to what might be two friends meeting in a coffee shop.

First, I’ll discuss key points and areas in your natal chart. Then, we’ll talk about matters concerning you or that you have questions about. (It’s helpful if you include these with your intake form so I can study your chart alongside timing techniques before we meet.)

I’ll offer my observations about the areas of your life that are currently activated or that will be emphasized soon. The conversation will last about 60 to 75 minutes.

You have agency over the direction of your reading. If you’re uncomfortable discussing any particular topics, we can pivot to something else.

  • Your birth chart is a snapshot of the sky at the moment of your birth.

Natal astrology is the practice of decoding the stars in your birth chart by evaluating their placements, houses, phases, conditions, aspects, etc.

Astrology is a multivalent divination tool that draws upon thousands of years of observation, practice, mythology, archetypes, symbolism, and more.

During your session, I’ll share information about your chart through this lens, and we’ll talk about how this language is expressed in your life.

  • A birth chart is static, but there are many layers to it beyond what you see on paper or screen.

Its promise unfolds throughout your life — even after death. There are numerous timing techniques that astrologers use to access predictions. And there are many disciplines in astrology.

Your chart can be read using different techniques by different astrologers, yet still provide insight, validation, and understanding.

You can study your chart for years and be intimately familiar with it, yet another’s perspective, another method, or your own training and experience will bring something new into your awareness.

  • I practice traditional astrology, using Whole Sign houses, and the tropical zodiac.

If you’ve had a reading before, cast your birth chart online, or follow astrology blogs or apps, the information you’re receiving could be based in the astrology I practice, or another. There are many! Some include Astrolocation, Evolutionary, Harmonics, Medical, Modern, Psychological, and Vedic.
